PMA Structural Inspection
This course covers the techniques and procedures used to inspect Putzmeister America Inc., (PMA) Truck Mounted Boom Pumps, Telebelts, Stationary Placing Booms, as well as Truck Mounted SANY Boom Pumps.
The course consists of both classroom and hands-on training that provides the information needed to safely perform structural inspections on PMA equipment.
The classroom training focuses on the visual inspection procedures used to identify structural issues such as cracks, component deformation, and worn or loose connections. The information presented during the classroom training is supplemented by two to three days of actual hands-on inspection procedure training on boom pumps, Telebelts, Stationary Placing Booms, and SANY Truck Mounted Boom Pumps
The structural inspection course includes a written and practical evaluation of each student to measure their knowledge on PMA inspection procedures. Following the initial structural training at our factory.
PMA Certified Boom Inspector
To become a certified boom inspector each person must first complete the Structural Inspection class held at PMA. After completion of the class each student is required to perform 10 additional supervised inspections under the supervision of a certified PMA boom inspector. This will include 5 Putzmeister Truck Mounted Boom Pumps. 2 SANY Truck Mounted Boom Pumps. And 3 Telebelts. For the last 2 inspections a representative from PMA will supervise and evaluate the inspections. This will be the final evaluation to become a Certified Boom Inspector. To maintain your certified boom inspector status, each inspector is required to successfully complete and return an annual refresher course.
Pre-Requisite for attending Structural Inspection Training
• Everyone that attends should have the knowledge and skill to be able to safely set up and operate the following with no supervision:
- Putzmeister Truck Mounted Boom Pump
- SANY Truck Mounted Boom Pump
- Telebelts
Any individuals that do not meet these criteria are strongly recommended to take the applicable operations class before attending.
Subjects Covered:
- Safety as it relates to the structural inspection process,
- Scope of the inspection process and inspector responsibilities Structural Inspection terms and definitions,
- Structural inspection techniques and procedures,
- Structural Inspection intervals for PMA equipment,
- Proper inspection documentation using the PMA inspection forms,
- Equipment construction as it relates to structural inspection,
- Identifying current structural issues,
- Non-destructive structural inspection
- Understanding of electrical, hydraulic and safety circuits.
Note: This class will be a mix of classroom and hands on. The appropriate PPE and work clothes will be needed to attend. For example, Hard Hats, Safety glasses, work gloves, steel toe boots. And appropriate work clothing.
